The new Ford Fiesta ST is the most precise, engaging and fun-to-drive Fiesta ST ever, with a range of innovative sports technologies that enhance power and performance, cornering agility and versatility for scenarios ranging from entry-level racing to the racetrack.
The new Fiesta is powered by Ford’s new 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine, the first three-cylinder engine equipped in a Ford Performance model, delivering 200 hp and 290 Nm of torque for 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 232 km/h.
For the first time, the new Fiesta ST features selectable driving modes, which allow the engine, steering and stability controls to be configured for Normal, Sport and Track settings, and change at the touch of a button the driving character of the vehicle from a versatile everyday hatchback to a sports car designed for the racetrack.
The first optional mechanical self-locking differential (LSD) fitted to a Fiesta ST optimizes cornering grip, and Ford’s patented, segment-first force vectoring springs deliver more agile cornering, better rear-end response and a more controlled feel.

A few months after the launch of the seventh generation of the Ford Fiesta comes the sporty ST version that already premiered the 200 hp engine in the previous generation, but now incorporates more exclusive details, some based on this new generation and others specific to Ford Performance.
The engine, tuned by Ford Performance in a 1.5 3-cylinder, with EcoBoost technology, is an aluminum engine with integrated exhaust manifold, which makes it more compact and with shorter warm-up time.
It has a new turbo with more pressure and less inertia, with new combination of injection port technologies and direct injection with increased fuel efficiency under light engine loads. Its 200 hp power output reaches 6,000 rpm, while peak torque is 290 Nm between 1600 and 4000 rpm.
EcoBoost technology includes: turbocharging, high-pressure fuel injection, variable valve timing and now features Ford Performance’s first cylinder deactivation system for a three-cylinder engine. It can deactivate or engage a cylinder in 14 milliseconds – 20 times faster than the blink of an eye. An active exhaust valve amplifies the sound to subjectively embellish the engine.
But the main advantage of this type of fuel is that it does not require ‘traumatic’ technical transformations in the cars that use it. For this reason and because of its capacity to increase the energetic power (octane) of the gasoline with which it is mixed, this biofuel is perfect for use in high competition.
Calm Competició has also opted for this fuel for Santander. The Lancer Evo X ‘N Plus’ of Xevi Pons has only required a modification in the engine mapping and nothing else. In this way there will be thirteen racing vehicles that will compete in this second meeting of the CERA with this fuel of vegetable origin and totally renewable.
