The OCTAVIA iV is the first car in this iconic model range to be offered with a plug-in hybrid engine, and the second from the Mladá Boleslav brand, following the launch of the SUPERB iV. Equipped with a 1.4 TSI gasoline engine and an 85 kW electric motor, it has a respectable 100% electric range that allows it to cover most daily journeys without generating emissions. Spacious, comfortable, safe and sustainable, the OCTAVIA iV is especially targeted at customers looking for a functional, environmentally friendly, everyday solution with excellent value for money.
The first electrified OCTAVIA iV is powered by a 110 kW (150 hp) 1.4 TSI gasoline engine, which is combined with an 85 kW electric motor. Together, the two engines deliver a combined output of 150 kW (205 hp) and a high maximum torque of 350 Nm. With these, the OCTAVIA iV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 220 km/h. In addition, it is equipped with 6-speed DSG transmission, operated by shift-by-wire technology. This ensures a particularly precise behavior and improved performance of the vehicle, which offers a dynamic and comfortable driving experience, both in city driving and on longer road trips.

We speak of a very different unit to the rest of the range of the Czech brand thanks to the incorporation of a wider grille, a new bumper, larger air intakes, new spoiler, new diffuser, dual exhaust outlet and full LED headlights with Adaptive Front-lightning System, which give it a sporty and elegant at the same time.
The seats stand out for their greater comfort and better wrap the body, with a markedly sporty aesthetic with the presence of the RS letters on the top. It also has a steering wheel upholstered in perforated leather that integrates the paddles for the version with automatic gearbox DSG, although the unit we tested had a six-speed gearbox of a spectacular behavior.
The 245 hp 2.0 TSI gasoline engine, which was the one we tested, has 15 hp more than the previous RS, so the maximum power is achieved between 5,000 and 6,700 revolutions, while the engine torque is obtained at 1,600 revolutions, a very low speed.

The compact sports car has a four-cylinder TSI gasoline engine that offers a maximum torque of 370 Nm between 1,600 and 4,300 rpm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds and its top speed reaches 250 km/h. This model also offers the most advanced driver assistance systems, which far exceed the usual standards of the compact car segment. New features include Tow Assist, Predictive Pedestrian Protection, Dead Angle Detection, Rear Traffic Alert, Maneuver Assist and Occupant Protection Assist, among others.

Skoda Canarias already offers in the Islands the new Octavia RS. The third generation of this version takes its acronym RS from the words ‘Rally Sport’, a denomination first used in 1974 to designate the Skoda 180 RS and 200 RS rally models, which will celebrate their 40th anniversary next 2014. Today, the RS is the clearest representation of this tradition, where practicality and sportiness coexist in an orderly manner.
It is revealing how, despite its high performance, the RS does not neglect fundamental aspects such as fuel consumption and emissions.    The gasoline engine only consumes 6.2 l/100 km, while emissions are set at 142 g/km. In the case of the diesel and six-speed manual transmission these figures are reduced to 4.6 l/100 km and emits only 119 g/km of CO2. Systems such as Start-Stop and Brake Energy Recovery contribute to this, which are fitted as standard. The engines can also be combined with a six-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.
